multi room hifi advice sought

Posted by: bornwina on 12 August 2003

I want music in my kitchen and dining room which are adjoining. Does anyone have any experience of this? I was thinking along the lines of Linn Classik based system maybe with a pair of in wall sekrit speakers. Does anyone have any experience of this or alternative suggestions?

Thanks

The Classik will work well. Their speakers are a bit boring.
You'll need a room amp and wall controller or use a switching box, say a QED.

I have a 140 powering 3 sets of speakers (hall/dining room/study) which coupled with remote extenders in each room works well for me.
Not "truly" multi room in the sense of some set-ups, it works well for my requirements.
Obviously, cable runs etc. can be an issue with any multi room set-up.
The main set-back is that the speaker switching that I have is not controllable via remote, so I have to manually select which I want, or just leave them all on which is what I tend to do anyway!

Computers are supposed to work on 1's and 0's - in other words "Yes" or "No" - why does mine frequently say "Maybe"?......
