Panasonic lumix fx 150 if you want a really pocketable camera with some decent manual controls ( I have one and it is a great supplement to my digital SLR

Check out dpreview on the web it has a good set of reviews and some very informative forums

A ggo rule of thumb is if it feels right and usable then you are more likely to carry it and use it.
Good luck and use/enjoy whatever you buy

There were some good value deals on Panasonic TZ3 after the new TZ5 came out, not sure if they are still about. It's not a super small camera but very well made and equipped. C £140.

You can pick up a Leica C-Lux 2 cheaply at the moment (the new C-Lux 3 is out).

I have one, it's a gorgeous little thing which feels great, has all the features you need in a compact and, most importantly, takes superb pictures.

I have a Lumix FX500. Great photos plus it has a very wide angle at the bottom end of the zoom.
