MTB saddles

Any of you fellow bikers out there using a koobi saddle?
I'm in the market for a new saddle, tried quite a few, WTB speed v, quite basic/cheap, & probably the best so far, fizik nisene cp & selle italia pro-link, not comfy for me. I went to a specialized dealer, because they are supposed to be able to measure your "sit-bones", & do saddles in different widths. Tried 3 times, got 3 different results!
I ride off-road in the south east (not too many mountains in essex!)for up to about 3 or 4 hrs max. I'm kinda heavy at 16.5 stone, & 6ft, & ride a santa cruz blur. These koobi saddles seem to be in favour, but I don't know anybody who's got one to borrow for a trial. Any experience of them out there?

Chaps

I use Brooks on my machine.

It is perfect for the portly posterior.

Matt,

I find the Fizik works very well for me (Jekyll lefty FS), definitely more comfy than the one on the road bike(selle)!

Thanks for the replies guys.
Mick- I guessed the brooks would be mentioned. Do you use it on an "off-road"bike, or is it on a roadie/tourer type bike. I know of Brook's reputation, but don't see [m]any of them on the sort of bike I use.
Pete, I had high hopes for the Fizik, again, based on their reputation, but I didn't suit it.

Matt,
I use a brooks B17 Titanium on my cross country bike. Mainly because it is the same saddle as I have on my tourer and tandem. I am 6ft 15.5 stone and think that it is great.
Equally as important as the saddle itself,is the height and angle of the saddle as well as fore / aft position on the rails.

Good to see a MTB thread again!

Good, cheap and comfy - San Marco Rolls.

Otherwise Brooks Swift or simlair.

I used to use the Selle San Marco Rolls, a very comfy saddle for any duration of ride be it Road or Mountain bike. The Bontrager is another which is highly regarded.

Make sure you position it correctly whatever make you decide on, as this is key to enjoying the ride, both out on the bike, and the best ride, which I will call the bedroom ride, no explanation necessary!
