V for Vendetta

I returned back after seeing "V for Vendetta" (opened today) at the cinema. What an amazing action movie!

Absolutely fantastic! Well scripted, acted and executed. Great ideas, brilliant story and a massive dose of surrealism and climatic build-up.

Saw the trailer this evening at the cinema. I'll be sure to see the movie when it opens over here, given your rave review.

Has anyone seen it who has also read the comic book? I'm terribly afraid I'm going to find it massively disappointing (that said, the trailers do look very fine, and pretty faithful).

From what I hear (and I haven't read the books) only main difference between the film and the books is some of the references to the present-day political situation (rather than 1980's).

There is apparently one scene 2/3 of the way through that is very faithful to the book. I won't say what it is otherwise it would be a massive spoiler.
