Humming noise

Hi
Im using a 145 for my centre channel and can hear a humming noise. I've even moved the amp into a space away from the rest of the naim kit and still it some noise. is this normal ? its not so loud so when a movie on i can hear it but i can when not. A little annoying ! appreciate any advice

Ask your dealer to come and help out if they can.

its the box itself. None of my other boxes humm like it , guess i need to bring it into a dealer and have it looked at. Unit is not that old or been used much either

how is the signal for the center channel getting to the 145? You may have a grounding problem. I had a similar problem (possibly) when I used the pre-outs on my home theater amp going to my nait5 for the r/l channel. I used what in the US is called a "ground loop isolator" on the i/c between the two amps and it sorted itself right away.

its actually humming when only plugged into the mains and with no speaker or cable to AV2.

This will occasionally occur - often a specific interaction of a transformer and a local mains supply.

We test all transformers under artificial noise conditions and reject those that fail. However, under some circumstances some transformers will hum. See below.
