Wishbone Ash - Argus dlx

Yep that good old chesnut Argus is being re-issued this month with an extra disc of live tracks recorded at the peak of their powers in '72 at the BEEB.

Looking forward to it as it has always been one of my fav discs.

"Blowin'Free" is my top intro to any song. A must for air guitarists everywhere.

Another re-issue? Oh well, it is a classic.

I don't think they ever issued Live Dates 2 on CD which is a shame. Super live cuts of Persephone, You Rescue Me, FUBB, Living Proof among others. Maybe some day.

The best sounding version so far is the original MCLD disc with the one extra track. You can pick it up cheap on eBay for peanuts.

I found the remaster/remix that Martin Turner did a bit of an earbleeder.

Howard the catalogue number is MCLD 19085. It has the extra track No Easy Road. If you check eBay you should pick it up cheap.

Picked the 1992 version cheap on ebay as suggested. Its playing now and sounding good. This to go with 2 vinyl copies (no record player set up at present) - I will probably also go for the dlx version for the live tracks. Sad

The Japanese CD remaster (UICY-3503) sounds pretty good and contains three bonus tracks.

Or of course it's my treasured original gatefold LP on MCA.

Looks like I might have to buy it yet again.

John.
