The Members, a Mystery solved and a Maestro...

For a while I had been worried that I'd imagined seeing Siouxsie, with Spizz supporting playing Kingston Swimming Pool, late 70s. The gig does not appear in any Banshees gigography I've searched, and as a swimming pool sounds a bit unlikely I thought... hmmm...
Anyway; at my 60th Members gig at the 100 Club friday I actually bumped into Spizz and asked him the question he confirms they did ( and that, oddly, I was the second person to ask him that night. ) So, a mystery solved, much to my relief.

Anyway, 2/3rds of the way through the set a guest bass player joined the band onstage, with a rather familiar face. Puzzled me for a while - old fan? Somebody from work? Penny dropped - it was Guy Pratt, who has a long standing connection with JC. Spoke to him afterwards, nice bloke, A Good Evening Was Had.

60 gigs Mike, that's something. Sounds from the Suburbs of middle Camberley that I grew up in but don't think I have ever listened to a Members album - I was into Abba back then Winker

At The Chelsea Nightclub is a fantastic album. "You can drink till at least three, and half a pint of lager is fifty pee - at the Chelsea nightclub." It would make a nice change from Anouar Brahem!!

Kingston Swimming Pool was a very well-known venue in the sixties. There were three pools and pool no. 1 was covered over for concerts. I saw Georgie Fame & the Blue flames there.

And used to swim in pool three on Thursday nights...
