CDX with an acrylic platform - any views ?

Posted by: welshmark on 21 February 2004

In the absence of a conventional dedicated rack for my system I am interested in an acrylic base for my CDX.
ClearCover produce a BasePlayer for turntables which has 3 adjustable cones, an inbuilt spirit level and is made of clear acrylic.
Has anyone played around with acrylic as a support for any Naim CD player ?
I'm aware that many manufacturers are using acrylic in a variety of applications and I would appreciate any feedback from those with Naim kit.

All the best

acrylic tames the high and really brings out the mid. However, when compared with glass, the bass is a tad slower. But I preferred acrylic over glass. All my naim are sitting on acrylic.

Quadraspire have just brought out an acrylic shelf for their Reference rack. I have placed an order to change just one of my black MDF shelves for acrylic under my CDX.

Watch this space...

Steve.
