Speedy Service – Thanks!

Posted by: Hammerhead on 04 June 2003

Just a quick thank you to the ladies and gentlemen in Naim’s service department for a very quick turnaround on my Hi-cap service & re-cap. I dropped it into Naim HQ last Wednesday and it arrived back home at 1pm today! Now plugged in and strutting its stuff.

Cheers,

Steve

Agree - Naim's service dept is probably the best on the planet.

Had a 52 re-capped in 10 days - excellent turnaround. I have to say that I'm a massive fan of secondhand Naim kit mainly because of the quality of support that you get. I've no idea if servicing works out cheap or expensive in monetary terms at Naim but I just don't care, the level of service is worth its weight in gold.

Does anyone know if unity gain is available for 82? It would certainly encourage my decision to go for and AV2 and 175

Sorry, can I show my ignorance here?

What is unity gain?

Cheers

It turns your preamp into a very expensive switch. (to quote a hi-fi mag)

Basically it allows an AV amp to bypass the preamp volume control and drive the power stage directly. The upshot is that you don't need to juggle two volume controls every time you switch to the TV/Video/DVD
