Japanese GP, Massa and Bourdais. Am I missing something?

Cards on the table, I'm a Ferrari fan. But I'm not blinkered, so this has come as a bit of a surprise. I know some here will say that Ferrari always get their own way, blah blah blah, but this doesn't make sense to me. Perhaps I need to see the incident yet again, from more angles.

I can't see your link but If you are referring to the post race penalty to Bordais I'm stunned (not for the first time) at this.Seems the only way to give Ferrari something as the MClarens were out of the points.
A spokesman said "it was the best we could do under the circumstances, perhaps we can do more to help in China"

F1 is going the same way as the rest of this madcap world.....too pc and a nanny state.
bet ayrton senna is turning in his grave to see the sport going this way.
you cant tackle in football and you cant overtake when you want. Whats the point ?

Seems it was too early in the morning for me to take in what was happening before my eyes.

I thought that Bourdais was on the track, chose his line into the corner, Massa tried to overtake, rammed into Bourdais' car, and wasn't penalised for causing the accident because it was too close to the finish.

I hope that I can find an article to correct my poor observational skills this morning.

If I can't, I may never watch another Grand Prix unless a new formula breaks away and new management is put in place representing all of the teams.

Hamilton was a pillock at the start of the race but the events Massa enjoyed should, on the second major incident, have led to immediate disqualification.

So please someone, post a link to a news article which will help clear this up for me (NOT a Ferrari web page!).

I hope that if Lewis is still top spot come the final lap in Brazil that Ron tells him to stop before the finish line, get out of the car, flip the stewards the bird, jump over the pit wall and fly home a hero!

No - not really. did that come out right?

I see no sport here, bring on the rugby season on BBC.

They were racing for position and Massa caused an avoidable accident. I don’t see any other way of interpreting it. The penalty has been awarded to the wrong driver. The two front runners have demonstrated that when the going gets tough they go backwards. This is essentially why KR is the reigning champion and it’s a pity Kibica hasn’t got a few more points under his belt – it would serve them right. As per 12 months ago it’s now Hamilton’s to lose. Will he make it two in a row?

Can't argue with this. Hamilton appears to be proving yet again that he does not have the mettle under pressure to close out the victory. He really ought to have been a two-time world champion by now if he did.

And before he realises, another young hot shot will be the next big thing and he could be another could-have-been. I hope not, but I'm starting to not really care.

I can't believe that Hamilton moaned about the Massa move. Isn't his idol Senna, and look what he did in Japan, never even got to the first corner.

Kubica is starting to look the more deserving champion for consistency (never did Prost any harm).

I’ve seen some footage of all three incidents on Youtube

http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=lMILI4uETVQ

I thought the third penalty was handed out to the wrong driver (as I stated above). That footage suggests different. If anyone was going to get a penalty off that incident, I now think it was awarded correctly – but it was mean and borderline – I would classify that as a “racing incident”.

I can't see what you mean about the third incident being the 'fault' of Bourdais.

The first incident's coverage from those different angles really does make Lewis look like a boy racer in his dad's car. He really needs to sort himself out soon, or Ron and the few sponsors around next year will ditch him.

Massa was ahead at the line at the end of the pit lane and had the racing line. He should not have driven like there was a clear track and I think he paid for his mistake – at the time. I don’t think the penalty should have even been considered – but given that there was one it couldn’t have gone any other way. Pity.

Ok. As you say though, that is too close to penalise anyone. I'm sure I can see a steering wheel of some sort in these cars!
