Jaki Liebezeit

Love Jaki Liebezeit drumming in Can, what albums are worth exploring in his post Can days?

Just had a quick google and upto now found following activity 'Club of Chaos',
worked with Jah Wobble, Burnt Friedman & Jaki Liebezeit - Secret Rhythms
presumably there is more?

Has he recorderd with David Sylvian?

This Club of Chaos album sounds like it might be worth a punt?

Jaki plays drums on the first three Michael Rother solo albums. I am indebted to John Peel for introducing me to the splendid 'Flammende Herzen', 'Sterntaler' and 'Katzenmusik'.

I think Jaki also plays drums on the Neu albums (Rother and Claus Dinger).

I have a couple of cd's on which jaki plays, after seeing him in cincert a few years ago with Wobble and Laswell, this was released as Jah Wobble's Solaris "Live In Concert". recommened. other than that another Laswell related release is a Nicky Skopelitis cd "Ekstasis" on which he plays drums on 6 of the tracks.

sorry JN- No, Jaki did not play on any NEU albums, on Neu! and Die 2 it was Klaus Dinger himself and on Neu 75 Dingers Brother and Hans Lampe

I have the Secret Rhythms Vol. II and I think it is not too special. A bit bland and boring compared to the old Can stuff.

Thanks Steve.

I stand corrected.

Cannibalism 3 is well worth seeking out. It rounds up post-Can solo stuff, including a couple from Jaki, but the rest of the stuff is also great. Worth it alone for Holger's cuts from 'Movies' which is damn near immpossible to hunt down on CD (at a sensible price that is).

Hi Malky;

That's made me dig out my CD of 'Movies' (Spoon CD35) amd slap it on.

Blimey - there's only one copy on Amazon at sixty six quid!

I had no idea it was out of print.

The early Rother solo abums on CD however, appear to be cheap and plentiful.

Oh dear - I'd been meaning to replace my LP version for some time. Have quite liked the hybrid Can releases.
Oddly - I associates "Movies" with "My Life in the Bush of Ghosts" - another cd replacement screw up - no first track. I only recently discovered why.

When I had the LP version it prompted me to buy "The Human Voice in the World of Islam" - source material for the removed track.

A pity.
