It is great to hear all the positive feedback re Richard Hawley. I do find the over emphasis on where he comes from rather patronsing from the (mainly) London based music press. It is hardly hot news that some of the best music ever comes from up north and that faded industrial towns/cities can provide an inspirational backdrop! As you can tell I am a very chippy Yorkshireman!

Hugh & Cry - I agree with Simon, they are better than generally given credit for.

All the hype about the Guillemots caught my interest, but then I heard them on the radio - no way they're getting on my wish list now!

So the big money is on the Arctic Monkeys tonight. Stunning urban poetry in a Streets indie vein. My favourite is Riot Van. It gets my vote.

Bugger i can't get BBC4.
