The good, the bad and the ugly

Got some pre-release CD's home tonight.
The ugly : The new Sting. Embarrassing. Imagine taking all of his albums and putting them in a blender. Now tip the gook out and where it falls is how it plays. Diableddingbolical. Haven't used my flash so much in years.
The Bad : The new Starsailor. Like "Smokey" on acid. I Blame Chris de Burgh.
The Good. Actually, the bloody marvellous : Warren Zevon - "The wind". Recorded just before his recent death from lung cancer. The band includes Emmylou, Don Henley, Joe Walsh (I don't think I have heard him playing better - his humbuckers are really humming), Bruce Springstein and Jackson Browne. I Won’t mention Billy bob Thornton. Zevon's voice is pretty cracked but it's one of the more moving musical experiences I have had lately.
Elbow : "Asleep in the dark". Sorry but I had never heard of them and apparently their soon to be released new album is a ripper so I thought I would do some homework in prepartion. Very interesting.
