On a serious note, is it really necessary to blaspheme in such a crude way. It is unnecessary and plain offensive to many people.
I hope Adam deletes this rubbish if you don't. It does not reflect well on this forum.

Parry the Priest speaks!
Fritz Von Your Hypocrisy obviously knows no bounds Dave, and I note with no interest that you've totally ignored the recent post-workers strike, the taxpayers funding their failings up to the hilt with billions not to mention the pension fund you're so fond of being bankrupt.*
Should anti-social forum posters have their hands cut off?
P.S. Adam you have your reasons John, I personally didn't find my post crude at all, in fact it is real life daily language to the core, can I assume the 'f' word is now suddenly banned on here ? or were you more pissed off about me mentioning the English National Squad, which I can wholly quite well understand John:

Your post was blaspemous in a totally unnecessary way and it was promptly deleted by Naim because they also must have felt it was deeply offensive.
Most of your ramblings are just a waste of bandwidth but in this instance you went beyond the bounds of decency.

Mick,
Blasphemy is every right thinking man's right and duty. People who get offended by those who take a swipe at their religion have not even began to understand their religion. If you are offended its your problem Mick, dont make it someone elses. Whatever happened to free speach? If someone ridicules my religion they only harm themselves and so they have my compassion, they don't harm me at all so why should I seek to sanction them? Is the UK a democracy or what? Taking offence is just an excuse to be self rightious and angry. Keep it to yourself Mick.
Regards,
Acad

Free speech is a myth. The courts protect those who are damaged by and take suit against libellous and slanderous publication. A great many government employees are sworn to secrecy.
It is a right, and like every right it is accompanied by a duty. Perhaps you might consider whether you would like the Naim Forum to allow, for instance, a member to post denigrating things about your mother?

My mother could not be denigrated by anything said about her. Nor could I. You can not denigrate us nor humiliate us without our complicity. Thus we are free. I'm sure I can talk for my mother when I say this as it was she who taught it to me. I dont know what Fritz posted but I know the death and carnage inflicted upon blasphemers thoughout the ages and given the the rise of the looney Christian and islamic fundamentalists looking for an enemy I can well imagine more of the same to follow. You wont see me demonstrating on the street because someone published a cartoon, burnt my flag or pissed on my alter. Im not so easily offended.
The courts protect the rich. A government that needs to keep things secret is a government without morals and we should all be offended by that.

I did not remove it for reasons of blasphemy (which I do not consider to be an offence, being an atheist) but because the tosh you post is here under sufferance and you have, of late, seemed to have substituted abuse of fellow forum members and “bad” language for anything that might pass as wit or insight. I received a complaint and, given the quality of the post, had little hesitation in removing it.

In the big, wide world I am sure that this is entirely correct. You are free to do pretty much whatever you want elsewhere – here you will have some consideration for other forum users.

"An Aswang (or Asuwang) is a ghoul in Filipino folklore. The myth of the aswang is popular in the Western Visayan regions such as Capiz, Iloilo and Antique. The trademark or major feature of Aswangs which distinguish them from other Filipino mythological creatures is their propensity to replace stolen cadavers with the trunk of a banana tree carved in the cadaver's likeness. They are also said to like to eat small children. Their favorite body parts are the liver and heart. Other local names, especially in Capiz are tik-tik and wak-wak."
It seems unlikely - as Mick appears to exist and an Aswang is clearly a non-existent mythical nothing. A strange question.

I agree entirely with your point about needing to be complicit with the giver of offence in order to take offence - I was just aiming for an example that might illustrate my own point.
The history of religious persecution, however, is not reason enough for me to find ways to offend those who hold religious beliefs. I believe in the broad principle of free speech but I find nothing to admire in those who make an effort to offend for its own sake.
When it is cleverly done - for example: the statuette of the Virgin Mary in a condom that was exhibited in a NZ gallery some years back and had Roman Catholics marching in the streets - then I think it contributes something of substance to society. (I thought it ironic that the Catholic protesters were taking issue with the very frame of reference that allowed them their right of protest.)
It is perhaps not well known that most copyright laws allow unlicenced use of intellectual property for purposes of parody and satire.
We seemd to have hijacked Fritz's thread...

Nice to see the Aswang subject returning here once again so soon anyway, innit. It's lovely that so many should find this thread so interesting, and as apologised to those afore, I'm fortunately not as sensitive and hyper-hypocritical as some or I would have been long gone leaving you all to the set agenda merchants. Although Our Adam as always makes his executive point and as always I have to construe what he thinks of my posts 'tosh-wise' I think the speed he removed the said offending post was admirable (in fact it's a miracle anybody actually saw it to be honest?).

Guess which highly paid never retiring er, Consultant of swing just sent me this then?
Fritz Von After attending a 4 hour long seminar last night directly after a long old day at the old BBF without any breaks or a chance for a snack even, I watched (& listened) with great interest to what the two 'Highly Trained' Chaps (Consultants actually) were telling us, and thought to mesesn, "Christ! they must be earning an arm and a leg for this?"
In fact it turned out that they're purely voluntary, I was shocked & stunned that such people actually still exist today, innit*
