Nait 5 and 110

Had a weird idea.
Is is possible/desirable to do either of the following two things:
1) power the preamp section of a Nait 5 from one of Naim's older amps such as a 110. These can be had for less than hi-cap money. Also see #2.
2) power the pre section of the Nait 5 from an older Naim amp AND passively biamp using the amp in the Nait 5 and the outboard amp.
What say ye?
