Listened to bits and bobs of this guy and like what I hear - Dark and atmospheric - any recommendations folks?

Alina - absolutely awesome.

The other album that is considered a bit of a classic is Tabula Rasa with some Keith Jarrett on piano. Te Deum and Miserere are good as well. He has a large back catalogue on ECM.

I might have to dig one of them out tonight.

Cantus in Memory of Benjamin Britten
Spiegel im Spiegel

These are impressive as well.

Spiegel im Spiegel is on the album Alina. In fact played three times on that one. Impressive as you say.

As Adrian (Lontano) says, these two:

There are loads of others but they tend to have singing on them. An odd gem, worth hearing is "Tintinnabulum":

Which features several amazing organ works by Part, interspersed with organ works from the 17th century, and recordings of church bells(!). It's a queer mix but it works terrifically well.

You are right, "Spiegel im Spiegel" is on the ECM Alina Album. But there are other recordings like Arvo Pärt`s "fratres" on EMI Classics. This CD contains "Spiegel im Spiegel" plus six other pieces ( including Cantus in Memoriam for Benjamin Britten ) but not " Für Alina ".
