Since I have been on this site,I have read many references to WAF(wife approval factor)Since we live in enlightened times(supposedly) I suggest the phrase BAF(boyfriend approval factor)for those of us of a non-heterosexual persuasion. Or am I the only gay in the Naim Village?

You're not alone, Andrew. Re BAF, My straight friends are all jealous, cos they'd all love DBL's but seem to live in fear of the mrs wearing the trousers and saying NO WAY!

What about the PAF?
Parental approval factor.
When i come home with a pile of new records or some new gear (more rarely btw) i have to pass mum's check-point every time!

"......what are all those cables on the floor. I can't vacuum!..............." is her more typical sentence.
Cheers!

Actually the BF(boyfriend)doesn't have much choice!! I just buy what I want. Might be different if I had a girlfriend!!

Once i made a different choice: i let my girlfriend buy a new boyfriend.
We are both happy now!

To be entirely politically correct, prehaps we should use SOAF - significant other approval factor.
Or perhaps not.
My wife is wonderfully tolerant of the hifi. She prefers my new black SBLs to the 'ugly' cherry SL2s - 'the SBLs are speakers that are happy to look like speakers, rather than pretending to be furniture.
I did enjoy Ian's proposal to Adam tonight - very well done and quite moving.

Here here- how wonderfully PC. "significant other",which could include anything from your sister to your budgie. still it's nice to know I'm not alone in the village. judging by the responses so far, there seems to be a few of us out there.I've met a few Naim Queens out there in my time.......

Naim Queens - how quaint!

Hell, for a moment I thought you were talking about Bitch Approval Factor

Posted on: 01 November 2006 by u14378503097469928
never thought of that. Applies to both sexes, I think.

Do all Naim Queens play with the Lavender interconnects?

...and I thought that where Naim gear was concerned, WAF stood for 'Wallet Approval Factor'...

I always thought the Boyfriend/Girlfriend label should be dropped for something else at a reasonable age. I still hear ".....my mother's boyfriend" and I think.... boyfriend? The guy is 72 years old!! It just doesn't work. Know what I mean?
