Mac OSX 10.7 Lion roars in to view

Posted by: Guido Fawkes on 20 October 2010

OSX 10.7 Lion will have Touch Screen support, 3D user interfaces, further improvements in performance and greatly improved integration with the cloud. Lion will use large web architecture and take advantage Apple's new $1bn datacentre.

Apple will release a new MacBook Pro and MacBook Air. The MBA will have smaller form factor with 11.6-inch display and no more out dated technologies like hard-disk or solid state drives; this is the age of the new stick RAM.

Are you chaps running the Mac version of MS Office?

SWMBO wants to use Office on her Mac but I've heard it's pretty naffy in the Mac version.

Some prefer the GUI of the (old) MS Office for Mac to the Windows versions (be it 2007 or 2010).

I find it OK for my business use. For drawing diagrams, I use OmniGraffle Pro.

I am not an Excell/VB script expert so all in all the MS Office for Mac has everything I need and I have no need for the Windows version.

I'm led to understand that the new '2011' version is the golden version of the dogs dangly bits, so it may just be ok - I sure hope it is as it's the only bit of 'windows' I need to work well for the job, everything else is fine.
If the apparent complete ability to swap documents from Mac to pc and vice versa as well as XL etc, then I'll be happy.

I'm going to download this newer version of Skype and get rid of the old install altogether, I hope that this one works as it should. I do wonder if there was a conflict somewhere as the PC version works so well.
