Banco De Gaia

Anyone listen to these guys? I have the first 3 albums but was wondering what Igeziah (sp?) sounds like?
Any other bands do similar stuff? I have some Orb but they have gone hugely downhill IMHO.
cheers

There are a few people here who like BdG a lot. I'm one of them. And yet, I like the 10 Years compilation more than any of the "proper" albums. IMO, Igizeh is their least impressive work.

Bhoyo - I was wondering if it was any good. I've just got Big Men Cry and whilst some tracks are good, it does get a bit dull in places. Although it took a while for some of Last Train to grow on me.
Alex - thanks for the other recommendations. I do seem to remember now that FSOL are in the same ballpark. Is BT just that, "BT"? Not an abbreviation? I think "Adventures Beyond.." is a brill album. I've got the next one which is also good but after that..forget it!

Brucie,
Most of Bt's stuff is at least acceptable recording wise. I have all of his catalogue including the remix cd's which are all at least ok. Fav's are Ima and Electric Sky Church Music (his second album)
I also have the Billie Ray Martin Cd (lead singer of Electribe 101) which was produced by Brian, and thats excellent - a mixture of styles but good nontheless.
If you are into prog house Global Underground -Sasha in San Fansisco is also very good.

Do you guys listen to a lot of this stuff? Could explain a lot.
"My head feels like a frisbee" after a short listen.
Seriously, any recomendations for a newbie?
The Shpongle clips were OK.

My favourite BT track is 'Ride' by 2 Phat Cunts, (actually BT and Sasha)
For more general trance and psy-trance, I would recommend the following artists:
Total Eclipse
The Infinity Project
Juno Reactor (Well the first couple of albums, before they went flamenco)
Man with No Name
Prana
Renegade Legion
Lunatic Asylum
and on the slower more grinding trance :
Roger Devlin
Soma Club
RND Technolgies
Perry & Rhodan
I have tried Shpongle and they leave me completely cold? What is good about them?
DS
ITC - Various alt.country types - Rough Trade Counter Cuolture 2003

Just played the magical sounds of banco de gaia through for the second time. Its different for me I think I quite like it.Really like the bass though. It don't stand playing too loud though, not sure if its the CD or a combo of CD and CDP. Awaiting the delivery of U.F.Orb. Watching(e-bay) a Shpongle album as well.
