Micromega Trio III CD Player

Posted by: MHYu on 07 August 2003

I have found a used Micromega Trio III CD Player (with Phillips CDM-9 Pro Transport) in a second hand store at a very good deal. Anyone familiar with this CD Player please comment on its sound quality? I have heard that its sonic quality had received high praises on reviews from audio magazines in the early 1990's. If review copies are available, would very much appreciate your kind assistance to forward them to me to yumanhing@netvigator.com.
I have also been looking for the used Naim CDS or CDSII player in Hong Kong but without success because of their rather limited availability. How do the sonic performance of Micromega Trio differ from the Naim CDS? Your advise will be appreciated!!! Many Thanks.

I believe the Micromega Trio III was reviewed by a Canadian publication in the early 90's. Suggest you peruse their website as they offer a brief outline of early issues that can be backordered. Some can be viewed online.

The website is www.uhfmag.com

Good luck,

As long as you are comfortable with the fact that you will never get it fixed if it breaks. Micromega has a reputation in the industry which is as bad as Naim's is good. A completely impossible company to deal with (ask any former dealer or distributor).
