Has anyone got the newer BOC album GEOGADDI?
Is it any good?
Also I was thinking of getting "The music has a right to children" but not sure whether to get it on CD or LP. Sometimes ambient music is better suited to CD(?) - you can kinda fall asleep to it.

Hi Brucie!
Buy all of them with confidence.
You'll not regret!

What Gianluigi said.
In my opinion, Music Has A Right To Children (the second) is the best, then The Campfire Headphase (the most recent), then Geogaddi (the third), then Twoism (the first).
Then collect the EPs!

You also NEED In A Beautiful Place In The Country & Trans Canada Highway.
They can do no wrong.

Mmmm, great to get feedback as ever but there is an awful lot of confidence here which is good I guess. OK so BOC stuff is not too sleepy? Some of this trippy electronica can be one big boring drone. For me there needs to be beats and lots of varied intersting sounds.
To give you an idea I am v.keen The Future Sound of London; Tangerine Dream; Leftfield; some orbital; most of the Orb (the album with the gold lattice cover is dreadful); Banco de Gaia - so I'm hoping BOC will become a favourite.
No takers on choice between CD of LP?

Not at all.
I don't know what you mean "trippy" but i'm sure it's not boring.
Try one and then decide!
Good luck.

Brucie,
I assumed you knew what BoC sounded like. Sorry. I think all the bands you mention are great too, but they're not really like BoC at all. BoC have beats but they're, well, wibblier and more stoned than trippy. The overall feel will be quite a bit more ambient in feel than any of the above, except very early Tangs.
Having said that, they're not popular for nothing, so I'd go for Music Has A Right on CD and get it cheap as a taster. Amazon UK Marketplace has it for £6.35, eBay may be cheaper.

I would strongly recommend Music has the right. Then get Geogaddi.

Occean,
Yep got most of the Thievery albums. Have you got Dzihan and Kamien's "Gran Riserva"? - awesome.
