CDI to 72?

Hooking up the CDI to a 72. Which input on the 72 should I use? CDI comes with Grey SNAIC(5Pin DIN) and 72 CD input has phono sockets?!
What options do I have, Thanks!

CD input used to be AUX input and BNC. Had NAIM
Mod it to phono to accommodate a Meridian CDP which was replaced by CDI.

Didn't early 72's have a filter board designed for cd players which was slotted into the aux input.
If that's the case, you are much better off using one of the other line-level inputs anyway.

I guess so it does!
I sent the boxes to NAIM for service last year. Now I have a CD selector instead of AUX on the NAC72 but instead of BNC input it now have phono sockets. I do not know what happened inside though!

You should use the Tuner input.

Naim produced 2 different CD boards, one attenuates and I believe was for non Naim CD players. The other is a straight through Daughter board. I've used both and prefer the straight through board for Naim CD players. Otherwise the Tuner input is the next best choice.

Hi Matt,
use the tuner input for best results.
This socket has no input card facility which means it is wired directly to the mother board.
Avoid using tape input/output sockets as these have additional wires soldered to them for outputting signal. These wires couple the socket more heavily to the main circuit board causing degradation of the signal.
The din socket is far better than the BNC as it offers star grounding.

Has anybody ever changed the BNC (CD/AUX) input to a DIN Socket? Just a thought.....
