What on Earth is it for?

I just had my LP12 resently Lingo'd.Unlike the Vahalla there is no direct earth connection to the turntable itself so do I still need to use the earth wire between the chassis and subchassis?
Also my Wilson Benesch tonearm has no earth extra attachment to the turntable unlike Linn arms , do I need to add one?
I'm not too clued up on Earthing and all that. confused

Do a message content search on "Conn 401/E". By the time you've finished you'll know more about earthing in this context! On the other hand, maybe Andrew L. Weekes will come to your rescue...

By the sound of it, your TT is now not earthed at all, and your phono signal has no earth (possibly because the arm assumes an earthed TT, and there is a non-obvious contact somewhere). I suspect that this is probably sub-optimal, but that's about the limit of my knowledge.

Better explian more fully.

My tone arm is earthed with the signal cables, but unlike Linn arms and others it does not have an extra earth lead that joins to the sub schassis, which in turn has a lead thats joins it to the schassis , on the Valhalla this contects to an earth via the power supply cable but on the Lingo there appears to be no earth , this attaches to the Lingos case not the turntable itself.
Does the table itself need to be earthed if no power supply is in there?
If it is do I need to add one and to earth the arm to the turntable?
And , and, and....?
