finding vinyl online question..?
Posted by: Steveandkate on 21 March 2006
Ok, so this may have been done before, but I want to buy some records, and have yet to find an easy way to locate them, or even find out if the music is available on vinyl as well as cd. Can anyone help ?
For example, I want to new Neil Diamond record, a Rory Block album, a Sam Cooke album (Night Beats) - are they on vinyl as well as cd, and what is the best way to find out....
Many thanks,
Steve

www.eil.comIf you search for an artist they give a full discography; not 100% reliable, but a good start.

All the examples I tried it produced next to nothing. For example Pete Namlook has made a hundred or so records and it showed 3. Bill Laswell has made close to a thousand and it came up weith 21

Mr Smith
Wouldn't it be nice if for once you contributed something positive to this forum. So far in the vast majority of your posts you are being negative and/or moaning about something.
And as for Pete Namlook... well...

Hey, Garyi,
No clue in the name cdzone, eh ??
But, as for amazon - I have never seen a vinyl section - can you point me towards it - I have had a quick look, and still cant see anything..
But, also, to all, is there not a site that lists, for example, all recent releases, and the formats they are available in, rather than having to go to online stores ?

Not a site but a Google for [artist name + discography] often has good results.

CPeter - sometimes, it is the obvious answer that one (me) fails to think of - thanks !
I will try to think before posting my next silly question...
