Not sure what a producer does, but thanks Tony for The Moodies and goodbye.

Tony was a craftsman and a friend.

He embraced digital recording texchniques very early and I remember trying to champion the benfits of vinyl to him, he wasn't too interested, and shrugged when I showed him my LP12.

But the very last thing he did when he'd finished a recording was to pass it through a mysterious box "to give it a bit of warmth". It turned out to be full of valves, so not all bad then!

I didn't much care for the Moody Blues music but the productiuon was wonderful. What I do care for is John Mayall's "Live At Klooks Kleek" from 1964, one of tony's first Decca sessions, raw and raucous.

With all due respect, Jimi Elvis and Jim finally get the producer they deserve.
