Uniti - HT bypass
Posted by: naimUnT on 10 April 2010
I was under the impression that the NaimUniti has a HT bypass feature. When I tried to connect a preamplifier, unfortunately, I could not find a way to hook it up so that the external preamplifier could be controlled independently. I have read the manual but cannot seem to find anything in it about HT bypass. Could anyone help me, even if it is to confirm that the Uniti does not have a HT bypass? Thanks in advance.

I must be suffering from memory lapse! I had already asked this question and a very helpful forum member (thanks Manu) answered my query - yes, it is possible to set any input on the Uniti to unity gain. Just go to "Input" and set "AV Fixed Volume" to "yes". Seems this is an 'undocuemnted feature!'

Is listed in the Reference Manual, rather than the Quick Start guide.

sorry, maybe I'm being simple but why are you trying to connect to a remote pre-amplifier??

Paul Hannan: I was trying out my TVC preamplifier (transformer volume control). The unity gain feature allows me to bypass the NaimUniti volume. Its a useful AV feature.
