Miles on Columbia box set

I have just taken delivery of "Miles Davis - The Complete Columbia Collection" box set of CDs. Even if you own a lot of these titles, it's a super value, with excellent sound, mini-LP covers, and a very useful 250-page booklet. To be sure, there have been many comprehensive Miles boxes released over the years with numerous outtakes and the like, but it's nice to have the original albums.

This is an example of fallout from the implosion of CD sales. The majors are becoming a little desperate, recognizing that only old geezers buy physical product anymore, and they're offering some very good deals.

The Amazon reviews are deeply depressing as there are numerous reports of poorly constructed cardboard sleeves, and glue on the CDs. It looks like Sony/Columbia have blundered with their quality control - a great shame, as this is such an important, high profile release.

Has anyone on this forum already bought it - any reports (good or bad)?

While clearly not on paar with the Japanese Mini LPs in terms of quality, you can't go wrong at this price.

Main concern is that some of the sleeves are poorly glued together but in return you get some glue on a few of the CDs. Big Grin
