pre-amp upgrade

Trying to think of an pre-amp upgrade from a 12s/snaps.Limited funds,(2nd hand market place) 42.5 any big improvement.Have noticed you can mod snaps for dual rail working into a 42.5.Power amp is a 250.

32.5 first then Hicap. I would'nt bother with the 42.5 and the difference to 32.5 will be readily apparent.

I have noticed a 62 for sale on ebay.How does this compare to a 32.5.Are they very similar ?Sorry about all these questions.

62 is the replacement for the 42.5 and is'nt as good as the 32.5. 72 is the replacement for the 32.5 and is new style and will be a lot more expensive. I'm not sure if the 62 and 72 will work with your SNAPS but the 32.5 certainly will. Hope this helps.

Thanks for the advice,I will try and get a 32.5.I live in the Highlands(No Dealer here,since Nairn Music closed 15 years ago),hence all the questions.

You can also contact Robert Richie Hifi in Montrose who is very good and usually has access to second hand kit (I bought my 32.5 from him and am very pleased with it). By the way a 32.5 can be used with a standard or daul-railed snaps or flatcap or hicap (or supercap for that matter) so no shortage of connection choices there.
