Using a US 120V Denon 3800BD in UK

Hi

I am considering purchasing a US Denon 3800BD Blu Ray player to use here in the UK.

Could anyone recommend a good quality 240V to 120/110V voltage converter?

Also, are there any pitfalls I need to be aware of?

Many thanks

2 pitfalls I can think of.

1) What the voltage converter will do to your mains - potentially hurling noise back through it at your hifi, as well as compromising what goes into the Denon.

2) More than likely that you won't be able to coax it to play any of your (hopefully not too vast) library of UK Region 2 dvds.

Nor will it play any UK (Region B) Blu Ray discs.

Maybe I can expand on detail.

Of course I know it wont play Region B Blu Rays, the whole reason I am purchasing a US model in the first place is so I can play Region A disks (there are a lot more titles available in Region A than Region B.)

I already have a Denon 3800BD UK player for UK sourced disks (Blu Ray & DVD.)

What I am looking for is more specific information on the actual voltage converter/transformer.

Any advice would be gratefully appreciated.

Ahh, that makes more sense. In fact, I just bought a multi region DVD player for all my UK and Australian DVDs that my US region Blu-Ray player won't play.

Here in Vancouver, ther is a voltage conversion business that will modify the internal power supply of electrical equipment. I understand that they are relatively inexpensive. Is something like this available to you? It could be better than an external box.

As an aside, the whole region-thing for DVD and Blu-Ray drives me nuts. We customers are being treated with contempt.
