What to do, what to do?

Gentlemen

I have somewhat of a dilemma.
I have the following kit: CDX/NAC82/SuperCap/NAP250/SBLs (with NAC5? cable) on a Mana four tier shelf, plumbed from a dedicated spur through a Wiremold power strip.

The Mana holds, from top down:
NAC82
--------
CDX
--------
SuperCap
--------
NAP250

The stuff is plugged into the Wiremold in the order of (from nearest to mains cable) NAP250. SuperCap, NAPSC, CDX. The NAPSC is on a shelf on the Sound Org table, the top of which is used for the LP12 that doesn't work very well (the CD sounds better).

I really like the noises it makes and my toes tap a lot. My reservation is that sometimes it can sound a tad harsh. I have ordered a Sound Stage to put under the Mana table and I am about to order an XPS.

Am I going about this the right way? Are there arcane secrets I am not privy to? For example, should I plug the NAPSC into the non-dedicated spur?

Your advice is appreciated. Especially if it results in a zero-cost, music-enriching tip.

Thanks

John

John,

Try the following plug order with the first item I list plugged into the outlet (outlet 1) nearest the wall (outlet nearest the strip's AC cord in other words).

Outlet 1: 250

Outlet 2: Supercap (82)

Outlet 3: CDX

Outlet 9: Napsc

I've found the napsc sounds best not nested in the plug hierarchy or on a separate circuit , but at the end of the strip. YMMV....

hope this helps,

dave
