Jet,

If I had any say in it he would not have been there in the first instance! I have no doubt that Ashley would have been doing his market research while standing on the terraces with the Toon faithful, and it will be him weilding the axe ultimately.

Since the takeover my shares in the club have had to be sold, so my only sanction is to sell or give up my season ticket. Booing my own side is not an option.

The interesting thing is that there seems to be considerably more speculation in the press about Sam's position than Keane's.

Your comments about being baffled about the tactics and the players not seeming to play for him are spot on in my view. A draw was about right in the end.

Regards

Munch,

My first match was in 1974, when we beat Chelsea 5 nil at home, and I've been going ever since. In the last few years a number of mates who have been going as long (or even longer) have started giving up their season tickets, such is the malaise at the club.

It is not cheap to continue backing a team that has delivered nothing in terms of silverware for so long, but there have been some epic games and some great laughs along the way, and that is what keeps you going.

If I had to stop going I think it would be a bit like when Bobby Robson was asked if he was going to retire from football, when he said "what I am I going to do on Saturdays, go shopping?".

Whilst Ashley has a reputation as being a ruthless b***ard as a businessman, perhaps that is what we need as a chairman, as opposed to a useless b***ard! For that reason I am keeping on "keeping the faith", for now.

Regards

Bugger. A last minute goal by Clinton Morrison when it looked as though QPR were going to hang on for another away victory.

Ah well, at least your Chelsea player (another one!) got you a point...

We're hoping you might forget we've got them. You won't miss them amongst all the superstars.

Nic

Possibly with the exception of Allardyce you seem to be in the healthiest position structure wise with the Halls and Shepards and Shepardessess out the way with. You'll get there.

HA! I saw that Diccus ...I feel let sooooo let down by my (erstwhile) drinking buddy ..you know the rules ....NO POSITIVE COMMENTS RE N**C ARE ALLOWED FROM WE MACKEM's ON ANY FORUM ANYWHERE!

.....hrummph ....now ..where wuz I? ah yes managers under pressure...

...I suppose given our current low points total it may seem suprising that Keane isn't under any pressure what-so-ever ...and that Allardyce (who is 8 points better off) is .... I guess we appreciate that we (Quinny) have a 5 year plan commencing from Keane's appointment last year and that we are actually ahead of schedule.

Whereas BSA seems to have NUFC strangely unorganised on the pitch despite being fastidious about having a totally organised backroom team (2000+ dieticians alone apparently) ....he continues to refuse to talk to the local BBC TV and radio people after matches which also riles the toon faithful ...he doesn't seem to want to engage at all with the fans who pay his wages.

January's transfer window should be really interesting as Keane has admitted he really should have added some quality foreign players at the start of this season but didn't feel we had a good enough European scouting network.

We hear that our Irish backers are ready to stump up another 20K+ or so to try and guarantee our Premiership status so expect a busy time after Xmas with interpreters at the Academy Of Light training ground!

Jet,

Can I safely assume meant to put an m rather than a k after the 20 +, given current wage levels you would only get Michael Owen for just over a day Big Grin

Diccus,

I wish I had not made the crack about getting Michael Owen for a day now, as we have only had him for seven games this season and virtually none last! Seems that every time he plays for England he comes back broken!!!

Well as usual the Scots play their hearts out and go out Frown

McLaren has been given a fantastic lifeline. I say sack him even if we get through. He is footballs equivalent of.........................

France are going and they probably don't deserve it either.
Posted on: 18 November 2007 by scottyhammer
its not a foregone conclusion that england WILL get the point they need on wednesday !!
croatia are no mugs.
just an observation.
the scots were very unlucky in my opinion the free kick should have gone the other way!
Posted on: 18 November 2007 by Guido Fawkes
We'll do it

I vote for a flat back eight with a sweeper and player just in front to protect the back eight.
Posted on: 18 November 2007 by scottyhammer
rotf,
youve been talking to mclaren havent you!
Posted on: 18 November 2007 by JamieWednesday
Surely, win, lose or draw the FA can find a reason to sack him and bring in Jose!
Posted on: 18 November 2007 by Chillkram
Surely even the legendary Graham Taylor wouldn't have failed to qualify under these circumstances!
Posted on: 21 November 2007 by Guido Fawkes
Well - it's all or nothing tonight - anybody got tickets - presumably Beckham is on the bench so he can come on to take that all important free kick in the dying moments
Posted on: 21 November 2007 by nicnaim
Bye bye Maclaren
Posted on: 21 November 2007 by Chillkram
Don't wanna talk about it.
