Thought Sunderland played really well today - a very good result too. My tips to go down are Bolton, Fulham and Derby BTW.

Sad to see what's happened at Newcastle, but I don't think Harry would be the right man - not sure about Mark Hughes, he has done wonders at Blackburn. I think managing Newcastle is hard because the expectation is to play open attacking football and to win - it's great when it works; however most managers will think of shutting up shop before they look at strengthening the attacking options. George Burley would play open attacking football - whether he'd win games is another matter. One thing I didn't understand is why didn't Alan Smith just get off the field as soon as he could - why waste time arguing with the ref, getting sent off and having to miss a match. I guess it shows he cares.

Scotty

Sounness wouldn't stand a chance (back me up here Nic)- and I don't think they would touch Shearer even tho he's a legend, he has no experience as a manager - Ashley is a businessman not a gambler - I reckon Hughes (if he'll move)

Bloomin' heck a couple of wins and were mid table - funny old game.

If Newcastle want a manager with:

1. Geordie roots
2. Managerial experience
3. Attacking Flair
4. Who's a bit of a live wire
5. And the fans love

Then there can be only one...

Diccus,

Souness would not be welcome back, even on holiday!

As far as the others are concerned it is all just speculation.

Interesting first interview with Ashley in News of The Screws today, looks like he has completed his market research on the terraces and will now get more heavily involved in the board room.

Pleased to see that at least one North East team managed a win this weekend.

Can't see it myself, think his time is gone and could potentially be a disaster................

BTW HEAD OVER HEALS IN LOVE was written by former Smokie members: Chris Norman and Pete Spencer.

You make me a stranger
that's what time can do
baby you mean ev'rything to me
darling there's no danger
for all that we've been through
that anyone could love you more than me.

I've got news for you babe
all the things you do babe
make me think of how it used to be.
And it looks like I'm falling all over again
head over heals in love with you.
Yes it looks like I'm falling all over again
head over heals in love with you.

Will I get through to you babe
I love ev'rything you do babe,
the same old feeling this time's feeling new.
And it looks like I'm falling all over again
head over heals in love with you.
Yes it looks like I'm falling all over again
head over heals in love with you.
In love with you, in love with you.
