Another 3 goals for QPR - away at Wolves this time...
Yes Mark, but I don't always think scoring three goals in every game is the best approach. I like Rangers and admire their good football, so much so I think the players deserve a quieter match now and then so they can recharge. So perhaps in next Saturday's fixture they should relax a bit and not worry about scoring any goals, perhaps conceded a couple and just, generally, have a nice day out in Suffolk without worrying about who gets the points or gets in to the play-offs. Let the lads in the other team have a chance - please.
Just a thought - ATB Rotf

I always like your humour, ROTF, there's a sublety about it that is right up my street!
If we are going to lose a game again this season I would like it to be against Ipswich. I hope you make the play offs.

Mark

Mark,
Do you go and see QPR much?
Not so much these days Stuart as I'm usually babysitting at the weekends. My wife's a nurse so she works when I'm home and vice versa. I fist saw them in 1972 with my Dad and used to go every Saturday, now it's more like once or twice a year.

well well well....at long last robert green has been called up to the england squad !

About time too!
I'd love to know why its taken an injury to another goalie, who hasn't been in Greens class all season to get Green into the squad?
The downside is that if he does well, all the big boys will be knocking on the door in the summer for him as well as Noble.
Still, it looks like Deano's getting in to it a bit more, & the youngsters look lively too!

hi matt,
yes there is always the possibility that "big" clubs will try to poach our good players as there is the same chance with other clubs too BUT i would like to think that times have changed at west ham and we are no longer a selling club like years gone by (although i wish we could offload rigamortis)
and the club are trying very hard to keep the stars of the future and thats why many players have signed new extended contracts for at least 4yrs among them.....
robert green
anton ferdinand
freddy sears
dean ashton
mark noble
and many more of the kids that are coming -through which bears us in good stead for the future. everyone knows that contracts dont mean a thing these days but what else can the club do ?
if a player wants away then whats the point in keeping them??
im happy enough with the direction the club is going in and look forward to greater seasons to come.
regards, dave
p.s. can you drive yet ?

Hi Dave
I'm off to the hospital again for a progress report, & I'll be asking the consultant on his opinion about me driving.
My car has a manual gearbox, the missus's car is auto. I think I'd be OK ish to drive now, but confirmation from the consultant would be good.
Get that LP12 warmed up!!

The footie season is almost over when BBC starts showing Doctor Who (soon...).
It would have been nice if someone else won the League (Chels were kind to give both Cups away).
Good luck to all - it's only an (overpriced) game.
Not long to Euro 2008, and Port Ron.

We are going to win the world cup! This team are a bunch of world beaters. We stuffed those froggies tonight good and proper. Oh, no, hang on, wrong one........That was a woeful performance. We don't have any decent players. It was an absolute disgrace, Capello should be sacked...etc, etc.
Actually I thought it was about what I expected. Capello is clearly looking to keep things tight first and for most of the game that worked as I thought England controlled much of the play without threatening the French goal. When he has finished I can see us being difficult to beat - unlike under McLaren - but I don't expect to see exciting, gung-ho football, Italians don't play that way. Clearly still work in progress.

....Making the trek northwards tomorrow Scotty?
....word up here is there may a be a near capacity crowd at the SOL. Curbs has been talking about playing more "kids" for the rest of the season....(I wish we had that luxury!)

and it seems they did!

The relegation position seems to be sorting itself out nicely - Derby (gone) look likely to be joined by Fulham (who had to win today and muffed it) and Bolton , who grabbed defeat from the jaws of victory.
Jet Johnson will be a more relaxed man this evening.

....Phew! ....A good game today ...the Hammer's passed it around neatly and quickly for most of the first half whilst we looked nervous in front a massive and V noisy home crowd and defended like the Dog and Duck's over 40's reserves for the hammer's goal.
..2nd half and the "game of 2 halves" cliche' rang true ...SAFC pounded WH's goal for about 40 minutes and we looked to have finally ran out of steam at 90 mins ....Daryl Murphy having contrived to miss an open goal from the 6 yd line (the same player who blasted one in from 30 yds to win a recent goal of the month competition!)
Finally ...FINALLY in the 6th minute of injury time Andy Reid volleyed home. after the hammers couldn't clear a corner.
...I guess Scotty will know this but in midfield and attack the Hammers looked useful ...but their defence? ..oh dear...although Robert Green looked the business ...
Ironically it was the number of injury's West Ham suffered that led to the unusual amount of extra time that was played ....I honestly don't think Sunderland are a dirty team but today was no place for the faint hearted ....would you like to pull out of a tackle with Roy Keane looking on?
Thanks to the gooners win against Bolton and Derby's draw against Fulham ...things are looking a lot better than they were at 4.45pm today
.....and ......we're a point above the black and white unwashed!
