I'm keeping my head down after all my prattling about Keegan -

2-0. Looks like it's not your day, Diccus.

Thankfully Nic couldn't get me a ticket and I had other plans

.....Pretty poor game that NUFC deserved to win ...both teams have poor squads ....if you'd asked Mackem fans before the game who you'd least like to see miss the game injured the top 3 would have been Jones, Bardsley and Evans .....NUFC fans would have said Owen, Martins, and Butt
All NUFC players were fit ...BOTH our best defenders weren't ...the difference was plain to see ....Keane has to take some blame for being so worried about his missing defenders that he played only Jones up front (trying to stiffen the midfield)...hence we never bothered Harper all game ....
All in all a game to forget ALL about!

Sophia,
That was simply marvellous. Would you mind asking those gentlemen from that small town in Durham to pipe down while I enjoy my brandy and cigar.
Nic (the contented)

Diccus,
I am glad that you are such a good sport. Season nearly over, must get together for some music again soon. Anything coming up that you fancy?
Regards

Touamanti Diamanti is on at the Sage. They keep raving about him in these hallowed pages. Am going to see Rachel Unthank at the Round and the Felice brothers/Sarah Borges at the Cluny next month and The national in Leeds in July. There is also a few interesting things at the Side Cafe which tend to stay well under the radar.
Football, hey that ain't serious its just 25 men kicking a bag of wing around

Toumani Diabate is definitely worth seeing, I saw him the last time he was at the Sage and would love to see him again in the slightly more intimate setting of hall 2. The only problem is that I am away when he is on this time. Let me know the dates of the other things and I will see what I can get to.

Not expecting a classic tonight, so a boring 5-0 win for Chelski will have to suffice.

It's gonna have to be 1 - 5 then with Chelsk scoring 5 in the second half

Eerrrrrmmm.............maybe not!
But I just love your optimism, ha ha!

I bet you'll take the 1 -1 tho. Riise couldn't do much else with it, bless him.

I think it is. The Liverpool lads were very deflated at the end and it will be difficult for them to score at the Bridge.
I see a Chelsea v Barcelona final.

Like mine did for Arsenal!

Hey Mark, I guess we all have our favourites.....NOT!!

I can't help thinking that 0-0 was a better result for Barcelona. No away goals conceded, all they need to do is go to Old Trafford and score. It reminds me of the semi-final a few years ago when United drew 0-0 with Real Madrid and then lost at Old Trafford 1-3.
As I said, Chelsea v Barcelona final.

...0-0 is never a "bad" result away from home but jeez I thought Man U were very poor tonight!
Barca's defense can be unsteady even when they are on form - In La Liga at present they've been right off the pace so why didn't Man U show more ambition? ....I'd still expect United to win at Old Trafford but I also expect Barca to score.
Good manager as he obviously is Fergie's got it wrong in Europe before and I think his tactics tonight stunk .....it was a pity Rooney wasn't playing though ..
...erm' apparently he was! (where?)

That will do for me, Mark. In fact, the best scenario from the semi-final pairings I can think of.

.....mebbe's it's my mischevious streak but surely Man U v Liverpool in Moscow would be erm' ...fascinating to say the least!
Scallys and Mancs tanked up on copious amounts of Moscows famous white spirit? .....+ a guaranteed English winner ..bring it on!

I doubt it being a "winner".......probably just another ban for English clubs in European competition.

It would be my favoured match up, Jet.
Something tells me Mark couldn't stand another red parade around Liverpool with that big-eared metal vase, though!
