England was by far the better team, but they were unlucky.
Best wishes

Perhaps England should look at the top of the premiership for its manager - a man who wins 3 games out of 3.
Here he is, saying well ... er, why don't you go on the field and score a goal.
McClaren could learn from somebody like that.

Hi Manfred
Very kind of you to say so, but I think the team that scored two goals and leads Group D by 5 points are the stronger of the two sides.
I hope England will surprise me and qualify.

whats even more worrying is the fact that england were beaten by a weakened german side !
not sure about qualifying myself - perhaps if we DONT then dickead mclaren will get the sack, so it wont be all bad.

well its plastic and claret in colour has a tilting bottom part and a fixed back with a number 130 on it !!

Posted on: 24 August 2007 by scottyhammer
front row right on the half way line in the east stand......so you can give reococker / lumpalard some stick !!

another poor result. 2 home games without a win.
going to reading next week who thumped us 6-0 last season so i expect a blood and guts performance from the ammers !

glad to get past the banana skin that was bristol rovers last night BUT the win was totally overshadowed by the double leg fracture to kieran dyer-wont play again this season me thinks !

Kieron broke his leg when playing for us - he was back after 8 weeks. He's a great player if he can stay fit.
When we were broke we couldn't afford for our youth team to play in a youth cup match in the NE. Kieron and Titus Bramble (both Newcastle players by then) funded the team's expenses so it could play the match. We went on to win the youth cup.
I hope Kieron's injury turns out to be not as serious as it first seems and he's back playing soon.

That's a great story - I wish the lad a speedy recovery.
He's had some terrible luck with injuries, and it sounds like a bad one, so let's hope he's back before the end of the season.

Whilst I wish no ill on Kieron Dyer and hope he makes a speedy recovery, it does make a change to have him injured playing for someone else rather than us!
Spirited performance by Barnsley tonight, very solid debuts by Jose Enrique and Cacapa. Shola had some classy assists, particularly the ball for Owen's goal. Cool control and finish by Martins, a happy bunny.

Or that matter the league!
Jet your team held out well today against manure, in the same way that Wigan did initially and especially with 10 men. Their goal led a charmed life, but justice was done in the end.

Cracking result for The New Saints FC that, but you have to have a bit of sympathy for Caersws.

Played 3, lost 3 for Caersws - think they're in trouble already. I tip Connah's Key Nomads to take the title.
Oh no, hang on a minute. Just maybe I was referring to...
LIVERPOOL SIX - Derby 0.
Torres and Babel look like great signings.

I was thinking of starting a Forum fan club for Airbus UK, but I don't think it will take off!

Beware The Ide's of August (erm' and September) I'd say Nic ..Prem wise you've faced Bolton, Villa, and Wigan etc. ....whereas we've faced Spurs, Liverpool and Man U already!

...It's a long train runnin' this Premiership thingy yer knaas!

Jet,
Agreed there is a long way to go yet, but it has been a while since we were in the top half of the table! I would rather be playing manure now, while they are still out of sorts, than later when they get going. We have been less than convincing so far, but the new signings look pretty useful.
Scotty,
Look after Nobby Solano for us, he will be sorely missed, a great little player.

Things just get worse for Caersws...........not too sue if Connah's Quay are up to it either. Llanelli are looking strong, especially considering their earlier win against Welshpool - but early days yet!

Very Sad news tonight re Ian Porterfield's passing....he was my favourite player (even pre Cup Final) back then .....a classy + cultured midfielder.
And the first of the 73 Cup Final side to pass away ....I'll alway's remember being behind the goal at Wembley when he hit THAT shot into the Leeds net.
...RIP to a real Sunderland Legend
