Alex, Jeremy,

I've been mulling the DNM for a while, it's not widely available in France, but I'm sure if I started looking I'd find it. From your experiences with B&W speakers it sounds like a good choice.

In fact in the latest Hi-Fi News featuring the AV2, from the photo, it seems that DNM cable was used. Does it mean that Naim recommend them as an alternative? Do you need 3.5m with DNM?

I hope to have some Townsend Isolda to play with later this week. If you'd like to borrow some DNM whilst I play you're welcome. E-mail me if you're interested - I'll swap the agro and expense of sending it for a decent CD (ie not Yes ;o).

Alex

PS airness, I think the 3.5m still applies with Naim amps.

Ok, pleased you know what you like. You're comparing soccer balls with rugby balls, and the game you want to play is tennis.

Rico is playing soccer. Is the ball Ozren or Nuno?

Steven, you don't need this.

Don't take it (too) personally. I know Nuno won't!

If you're 'really worried about warranties' tell Naim you use NACA5 :> )

Point of fact, you are wrong. Still, beats playing with yerself, Steve?

I think the correct response to your post is F.R.O. mad

Hello Marco :

Marco says: Guys, at the end of the day, if Nuno prefers the sound of Kimber cable in his Naim system, so be it.

I completely disagree, of course, but who are we to argue how he likes to listen to music? I presume none of us know Nuno personally or how well he is qualified to 'listen properly' or otherwise, so I think it's unfair to say that he's listening to hi-fi and not music.

well Marco it´s not what I prefer! It´s about preconceptions we are talking! It´s allwais nice to talk with older menbers that can help us,they have more experience!I will listen both cables, but be sure I will listen music, not hi-fi.Off corse with kimber I can listen shinnings trebles and mids but that is not the way!I admit that first unconscious I was listen Hi-Fi,but thanks to advices forun menber´s as Rico I change my Hi-Fi views !I will try to listen muisic, not complexs hi-fi sistems!BTW that way is not so expensive

Rico,

I think you completely misinterpreted my post a bit there.

You were doing such a good job of arguing a point I happened to agree with - hence my extension of your ball analogy.

Steve.

sorry Steve - I thought you were stirring it up again.

Not so much arging a point as attempting to provide some guidance? I must take a break and work out how to moderate my "advice".

Rico,

I hope I explained my position a little better in my email.

Ballet!

I was very wrong some time ago. Shame on me Red Face
Now, thanks to many people from forum, I believe that I am on the right way, better than your country fella Alco, I'd say.
I was fooled some time ago by some dealers followed by lack of informations and that is all because I live in Mickey Mouse country.
Now I have all Naim system including cables, so I would say that I was learned something, but many people will never found out.
By the way, Rico and I was in very good realtionships today (Is that right Rico? Wink).

Have a nice day,

Ozren

I think that anyone with a Naim amplifier of whatever type and whatever age who's NOT using the NAC A5 (or 4) is NOT doing justice to himself and to the music. It is an unmissable link in the Naim chain.

BTW: The NAIT3 can smack you in the face, soundwise, provided you use the right ancilleries.

It's nice to see that the 'polite' subject of which cables to use raises such a debate. I have a CD3.5 hi-capped, 102 flat-capped with napsc, 180, SBL's, and the whole lot is Kimbered, including any power cables! I did this after trying numerous differant brands, including Naims own. It was iteresting to find out Naim's own point of view at this years sound and vision show at Bristol. One of the Naim staff said 'we don't manufacture diferant standanrds of cable, there are other companies who do and we leave this to them!'
Just as a point to add - you ought to try Kimbers PBJ power cables between a Naim power supply and the Naim pre-amp/cd player... you are missing out if you don't.
I also agree with the comment above about us all liking 'our own sound'. Thats what Hi-Fi is all about isn't it?
