Any idea what's up with this?

For weeks, I've had only one channel on my Naim Nait 2. Then, after I plugged in my new cd recorder, voila, I have both channels again. Any thoughts about what's going on or suggestions about how to prevent it in the future? I'm thinking of sending the amp to Naim for a going over. Thanks.

Have you tried it with the recorder unplugged since? It may be dirty connections and the jiggling around sorted it out.

I have many sources hooked up to my Nait 5 - and some of them go through each other to get to the Nait.

Two of the RCA->DIN cables I use are "two way" in that they have *four* RCA jacks for use with a tape deck. If two of these are unused and they touch the used ones as they dangle, I can get a staticy sounding channel or a quiet channel.
