Oliver Postgate RIP

Very sad. A very kind, gentle and unassuming man. His work with Peter Firmin was of a different place and time and will be much missed. I remember Noggin the Nog with fondness but my children Bagpuss and the Clangers. A man for all our ages maybe!

Noggin the nog.....ah, Noggin the Nog, and here is the website for a sentimental journey for those old enough to remember the days when you were allowed to have achildhood

I must confess to having a bit of a crush on Nooka and being a little scared of Nogbad

Very very sad - one of the truly great people in British TV - Oliver was a hero and produced some of the greatest programmes ever. A sad loss - at least his shows will live on and can be enjoyed by future generations.

His voice and bagpuss yawning are an integral part of my childhood. Brilliant TV. Sad news.
