Does anyone use a Harmony universal remote?
I can no longer log in to their web page that allows you to update the remote. It keeps giving me "session timed out". I was just wondering if anyone else had problems in this regard?
Up until around Jan this year I could log in fine, now I can't.
Thanks
Bruce

SimonJ,
Yes I have uploaded the new software and whilst it's a nice interface its still giving session timed out. I use a standrd modem at home.
Now at work I can log in and make all the changes I need BUT when I try to down load the hex file from work that updates the remote I then run into the firewalls at work which I can't control...yet.
In the days when I could login at home I could shut down my Norton securtity to allow the hex file through.
So the login problem at home cannot be related to firewalls because the firewalls at work don't stop me logging in. When I uploaded the new software the Norton function told me that rules had been automatically made to accommodate the logitech site.
Its driving me mad!! I guess I need an IT expert that have more knowledge that the helpdesk guys at Logitech.
thanks for listening anyway,
Bruce

Finally sorted! I found a proxy host address for users in South Africa when I did a search for "session time out" under thier product support pages. Guess I missed this the first time.
At last I can update the remote with the new LCD and DVD player after 6 months!

How good are the Harmony remotes. do they work with the n-Vi and SKY HD box? Slightly underwhelmed with the remote supplied from Naim ( specially in low light - ie when watching a movie)

Well they work, sort of. If you can be arsed with the hours of programming on the shit shit shit software which treats you worse than the most stupid kid.
A task which should be done in 2 clicks of a mouse takes 6 in this software and is a major let down for the device.
The device is OK, the buttons are small, fiddly and shit but they function. As with all universals you have to remember what that little red button does in each activity.
The whole thing feels like cheap plastic, but then so does a naim remote. So fill yer boots.
