n-Vi Bug List

Posted by: Duncan Fullerton on 22 July 2006

Following on from a post the other day I thought I'd start a thread to post n-Vi bugs whilst they are still fresh in the mind to try and help debug this software.

Here is mine for today:

1) Select "Disc" and listen to a CD.

2) CD finishes.

3) 30 minutes later select "Digital Optical 1" for Sky. No sound. Wait 30 seconds still no sound and check mute is not engaged. It shows PCM 2/0" on the display as opposed to "No Signal".

4) Power off. After 30 seconds try again to power off. No response apart from "power off" message.

5) Hard reboot from the power switch. All now OK.

I have posted these elsewhere, but thought I would add them to Duncan's bug list:

1) problems with sound from the optical input dropping out when trying to watch a program on sky with a DD soundtrack. The only solution to restore any sound at all is a reboot via the remote control.
2)The n-Vi doesnt "remember" the mode last used(I prefer to listen to non DD using Neo 6 cinema, so that the centre speaker is utilised). After switching on the n-Vi next time, it reverts to stereo with sound only coming from the front left and right speakers, even though the display says it is in neo 6 cinema. I have to scroll through the various modes each time to correct it.
3) when it gets too warm the fan speed increases (shows a speed of 5 in the status menu) and the noise of this is really quite intrusive and can easily be heard over normal dialogue.
