Peter Green track at Manchester show

Posted by: Rockhopper on 06 February 2008

When visiting the show on Sunday a visitor had a Peter Green CD which was being played in I think the Zu or Thiel speakers rooms.
Anyone know what this may have been?

No replies.

I should have tried harder to find the exact title.

Anyone got any recommendations for Peter Green albums or individual tracks?

Apart from all of them - I'd suggest Pious Bird Of Good Omen, which was made in his Fleetwood Mac days.

Mind you can get this gem from the Amazon for under £5

01. Albatross
02. Black Magic Woman
03. Need Your Love So Bad
04. My Heart Beat Like A Hammer
05. Rollin' Man
06. Green Manalishi (With The Two Pronged Crown)
07. Man Of The World
08. Something Inside Me
09. Looking For Somebody
10. Oh Well
11. Rattlesnake Shake
12. Merry Go Round
13. I Loved Another Woman
14. Need Your Love Tonight
15. Worried Dream
16. Dragon Fly
17. Stop Messin' Around
18. Shake Your Moneymaker
19. I Would Rather Go Blind
20. Albatross

They never sounded as good again and after Danny Kerwain left they should have gracefully retired, IMHO of course.

I like this album too

and his Robert Johnson Songbook is very worth the while.

rockhopper,

I couldnt say what track you actually heard at the show as i did not attend but a favourite vinyl album used at such occasions by the dealers is:
destiny road by the peter green splinter group.
i have this and it sounds fab. (i think its on hdcd too).
check it out and hope this helps.
