Clearly sporting prowess runs in the family as her mother won it in 1971. Must be the German blood!

Aha! Miss Philips, who was once in a close friendship with my Jockey cousin Richard Johnson. Reference the January 2002 issue of "Hello!" magazine! Well I spoke to him last in 1984, when I collected a sheep dog pup from his father who is actually my cousin! Richard is really the son of my cousin, but if their friendship had actually come to anything I would guess that I would not have been invited to the wedding!

Did you vote ?

Dear LTD!
I don't have a television, so I only ever find out about these media events afterwards! I think I would vote for Freddie Flintoff, but I have no idea where he came in the line up at the end. Was he in the voting, even?

I will ask her if she remembers him Fredrick next time I am over for a cuppa

I think she will! It was definately love, but I predicted the end, like the old Jeremiah that I am! The Toff and the Yeoman are no match really! That should be referenced to the British Class thread really as well!

OK so she jumps horses. Did she win anything last year?

I struggle with the "Personality" part of the title....

Some kind of equine world championship, I think.

What a joke result that was. Heard to the verdict on the car radio and even the presenter couldn't hide his surprise.
Darren Clarke should have won by a country mile and his Ryder Cup team mates should have taken the team award.
I'm not a Golf fan either but this summers best sporting TV moments came from seeing Tiger Woods win his first major after his Dad passed away and seeing the Ryder cup guys blow the Yanks away and offering great support to Darren Clarke, who had only just lost his wife to cancer. There was real emotion shown from that sport this year, so how the hell ZF won it, is really beyond me.

I struggle with the "Sports" part of the title. But I guess it goes to show how crap we currently are at Football, Cricket and Rugby.

...er, I thought she won because the largest number of the voting public picked her.
The problem with democracy is trusting it!

Democracy eh?
So we don't suppose that the bookmaking fraternity urged everyone whom they employ to vote for ZF to avoid a massive payout on the preshow runaway favourite? As they are spread nationwide no discernible pattern would emerge to nullify the vote.
Today's game will be to find anyone of our acquaintance who admits to voting for the winner.

Could be worse, could have been won by that lard covered swimmer

I do believe she is the raning Olympic, European and World Champion in "Eventing" a 3 day nag fest!
However, for me the Ryder Cup Team should have won by a mile. No one gave the Americans such a spanking at almost anything else! Otherwise they are so dominant in the sport.
As for Darren Clarke, I would have also given him my vote for sheer guts and strength of character.
ZP does have a set of titles to be envious of!

It is selectively democratic.
The same man has received the most votes year after year. He is an angler but the BBC won't let him win.

Surely the horse should have been in line for some kind of award too?
Oh, I've just heard she won it 35 years ago apparently.

So if we were electing our Monarch, and this has been done in one other country's history, then I would guess the dear girl would not get many votes from Naim Forum members!
