Recording software

Downloaded a different bit of recording software which allows 192/24 recordings (Spin it Again). After transferring LP at this level, all I can say is blimey! Never heard CD sound so good!!!

Sorry for the stupid question (it is getting late ;-) but surely this software is dependant on the quality of the soundcard you have? Or am I missing something?

Yep it does, I have an external soundcard which is in effect a two way DAC/ADC from M-Audio which isn't the last word in hifi quality but plenty good enough for what I want. Big files, at 9216 kbps (as opposes to CD quality wav at 1411 or lossless at about 1000) but if you want or need to transfer some vinyl to CD it's quite impressive.

Yeah, but you have the gear that most people don't have. You could do some good business here if you were inclined, maybe £5 a pop. Winker
