A Scottish three piece, from either the seventies or eighties, one hit & one album (I think), lead singer had long blonde hair, unfortunately he died & the group were no more.

Anyone any ideas who this might be? Confused

There were four of them. Billy Lyall (keyboards and founding member) died but I think that was in the late eighties. Years after they split.

The Associates? Billy MacKenzie -- I think he died

The Associates where a two piece if my memory serves, but with others providing support.

Try "Sulk" as the best album.

And any other Scottish bands you can think of. Bay City Rollers? The Corries?

I'm going with The Associates. As Jono said, not strictly a four piece but appeared in various numbers.

Cheers

OK guys, the fella who posed the original question's E-mailed to say he's remembered the group - it was Big Country!

That's right, the four (or even five) piece one with lots of albums.

I've told him I don't want to join in any of his quizzes in future!

Another early check out by lead singer - Stuart Adamson.

Sad.

Like the one hit quote. Numerous albums and still touring to this day. Had the pleasure of supping a few ales with Stuart and the Skids many years ago in Edinburgh. Really nice guy.

Ah,Scottish Blonde lead singer with one hit or lots of hits who died but didn't commit suicide and didn't have blond hair and wasn't in the Associates and was never on 'Postcard' and actually didn't come from Scotland.

That'll be Danny Wilson (not the Footballer) whilst drinking a glass of Orange Juice and using a digital Aztec Camera.

I'll close the door as I leave..................

Richard Jobson one of the most obnoxious guys I have ever had the misfortune to meet. Huge ego and hated the English with a vengenance.
