System pictures

Posted by: Alco on 20 February 2001

Hi Folks,

No, i don't have any questions about what to upgrade next or some audioproblems what so ever.

But, I am building up a "strange collection"...

I'm saving all kinds of pictures of (mostly) Naim-systems.

Who wants to post a picture of his Naim-system
on the forum ??
(y'all can count me in too, as soon as I bring
my film to the photoshop)

I just love to drool (did I spell it right?)
over those pics of all that Naim stuff housed in the right furniture, combined with nice speakers and set up in the right/nice environment.

am I a weirdo,or am I not alone on this issue,haha

Well, see y'all

Greetings,
Alco.

Alco,

Thanks for your webpage, it's great!

Anyone else have pics to add?

Quick question:

Does anyone know how to capture the Naim lights properly? I get a feeling that my exposure is set too high, but it has to be in order to disable the flash. I'm using a Canon Ixus.

Pic1) This was my first naim: CD3.5/92/90/Credo

Pic2) "copy-day": I used my old NAD-amp because I did not have phono-boards in my 92 for the Basik/Akito/K9; the rest of it: Tascam portable DAT, Onkyo DualCapstan Tape, Philips CDR and Denon CD with Digital-out...

Thanx,Y'all for fosting some system pics.

This is one of my most recent pictures.
I would like another system-support though,asap.
(Fraim would be really cool, but way, way, way over my budget)
I'm thinking of an Apollo AD3,which is a welded rack, has 3 shelves and is only 50cm's/20inches high.

See y'all

Greetings,
Alco smile

Naim english
SBL
plan1

The boxes of the SBLs are damped with utterly fine sand. In my opinion my
SBLs sound better than the great NBLs (less distortions, but not so load).

My photographer friend said an easy way to capture the Naim logo is to unplug the unit in the middle of a long exposure.

Of course he didn't realise that unplugging Naim is verboten, so I Photoshopped the things to death.

The room is always a bit dark when I want to take a picture.

Go Figure?

Well, tried to post the shot. could not get it smaller than 33k..pretty funny....

Marc,

You can email your pic to me, I can get it under 30kb if you like

well, here's my most recent piccy, just taken about 15 minutes ago.

I added another isolation platform underneath the Sound-Factory TT-platform which is underneath my CDX. Also I swapped the black board under my Nait-2 for a smaller piece of black marble, which I still had lying around. (only because it looks better though)

Now, the only thing that will change this setup in the near future might be another system-support and a TT. (somewhere between a P3 and an LP12,I guess)

Well,see ya guys,

Greetings from Holland,
Alco smile

ok,guys hang on, here's a picture of my system
from March 1993. This photo was taken for an article in a Dutch HiFi-magazine called "The Homestudio", which iscalled "the musichome" these days.

In those days I didn't even know about Naim, and I thought that Krell or ML was musical heaven.

My system of those days consisted of:

Proceed PCD-1 - CD-player
Van Medevoort (Dutch) - Integrated amp
Xanadu DS14 - (also Dutch) speakers.

I heard some affordable Xanadu speakers last year on my Nait-2 and it sounded superb!

well, here it is ...don't laugh big grin wink

Alco,

What's that building doing on top of that rack? big grin Is it a nuclear power station?

The 1993 hi fi is interesting, but you need to remove the strange object between the rack & the speaker.
