System pictures

Posted by: Alco on 20 February 2001

Hi Folks,

No, i don't have any questions about what to upgrade next or some audioproblems what so ever.

But, I am building up a "strange collection"...

I'm saving all kinds of pictures of (mostly) Naim-systems.

Who wants to post a picture of his Naim-system
on the forum ??
(y'all can count me in too, as soon as I bring
my film to the photoshop)

I just love to drool (did I spell it right?)
over those pics of all that Naim stuff housed in the right furniture, combined with nice speakers and set up in the right/nice environment.

am I a weirdo,or am I not alone on this issue,haha

Well, see y'all

Greetings,
Alco.

Hi, Stephen.

That strange object was some kind of creepy alien in a pale jeans, who landed in my garden and came in to steel my HiFi,but he got busted by my security-camera,as you can see..
big grin wink razz ,...yeah,sure.
My god,Alco your imagination's working overtime...

See ya'

Greetings,
Alco

Just like Mike, getting the NA logo right is difficult indeed.

Better late than never I guess. I thought I had better take a picture before it topples over.
System top to bottom is: LP12/Ittok/Kharma,CDX,XPS,NAC82,Supercap,2X140's(center & rears), NAP250, Rotel RDV-985, Rotel RSP986 (soon to be replaced by Naim AV2. What you can't see are Castle Howard S3's, Keep (center), Ricmond (rears) & Casle Sub with a Loewe Aconda TV.
I have to say it is awesome.

DavidT:

More info on those Neuance shelves @ http://www.neuanceaudio.com/

They're custom made for your specific rack by Ken Lyon, all round nice guy. He's been doing them for at least a decade AFAIK.

They sit on upturned spikes, so I had to tap my rack to accomadate the spikes.

They're extremely light and solid, a fraction of a standard MDF shelf. Don't know what they're actually made of. Ken works very much on PRAT principles, so his shelf is quite Naim friendly.

No idea how they stack up against the "Big 3", but with the Neuance, I haven't experienced the chronic problems with supporting a CDX as many have. Works nice under a NAC 72 as well, "unfluffing" it a bit.

It's not all things to all people, but wicked value nonetheless.

Best,

Mike S

Apologies for the quality! I've borrowed a really dire webcam (640x480, no exposure control, really hard to focus, can't move more than six feet from the computer) and taken some snaps.

Ths is the front end stuff. CDSII, 52 & NAXO3-6 on the foreground rack. CDPS, 52PS, HiCap & Armageddon (bottom to top) on rack in background. All is mounted on AF StarBase.

More to follow...

cheers, Martin

This is the power amps. Rack is AF Base (the standard stuff, not StarBase).

cheers, Martin

OK, you've seen the power amps already, but this pic managed to completely swamp the maximum brightness of the camera, and came out like this.

Wish I could do this when I wanted to!!!

cheers, Martin

This is the whole system (excluding LP12, which is off to the right of the picture).

It might seem a bit strange that the amps are rotated compared to the rest of the system, but this gets the transformers a reasonable distance away from the CDS & 52.

In fact, it looks OK because when you look at the system from the 'lounge' end of the lounge/dining room, all you see is the front of the 135s. The whole system is behind the listening position.

cheers, Martin

Thanks guys!

Keep 'em coming!
I'll ad a new picture of my system asap, when I get me new system-support next week. No, I'm not yet gonna tell ya' what brand it is razz . All I can tell ya' is that it's dirtcheap but it seemes to be pretty good.

Alco

Aaaaaargggh! , eek confused mad confused frown Those fu..ing lads at MSN.nl

My flatearth-audio site with al my collected Naim & other hifi-related pictures is gone with the wind,so it seems.

I wanted to ad a couple more pictures, and every time I wanna open the page I get "Sorry,we cannot find this page." and those stupid arguments:
"Perhaps it's been removed" or "Did you spell it right ?" Duhhhhhh! I had it in my favorites all the time,so no spelling failures.

O,well.
Alco, welcome in the digital world...where every once in a while computers & internet-servers do whatever they wanna do.

Greetings from a cold and rainy Holland,
Alco

Sorry to hear that.

Maybe it's only temporary? Usually when they're about to screw you, they at let let you know in advance...

The magic ingriedient to this naim system is the layer of dust that has accumulated. The sonic benefits I can not begin to describe!
