Posted by: Simon Drake on 04 October 2010

Watching The Well is a neo-classical odyssey with a unique ethereal sensibility and cinematic evocation. Originally conceived as a performance piece written by Jon Thorne, of critically acclaimed mancunian trip-hop group Lamb, for and in tribute to friend and mentor Danny Thompson, whose BBC Radio 2 Folk Awards ‘Lifetime Achievement Award' is testament to his illustrious career as a one of the most inventive and influential British upright bass players of all time.

Simon - have played my copy of this several times now. What a beautiful album - so moody and relaxing. Perfect music to chill out to.

What's the story with track Eicher - a tribute to ECM's Manfred?
