Fraim
Posted by: Jerryl on 10 December 2003
I happened to be looking through the Naim site as I'm contemplating a Fraim for my support. In the Fraim section, when one enlarges the picture there seems to be a CD storage case.
Does anyone know what it is? or what the cost is?

Jerry, the cd rack and av fraim never happened we could not get the build cost down to make the end price right.
We are still looking at the project for the long term as the fraim business continues to grow quite susbstanially.

Paul,
As far as your fraim goes, have you ever considered selling the top level of the base seperately for people who wish to further isolate their equiptment from vibration without wanting to lash out large ammounts of money on an empty shelf. This is much akin to what Mana do with soundbases/shelves which does seem to work on their set up. I have a reasonable Naim set up myself CDS3/552/500/DBLs and my 500 sits on the base layer which I know is not the ideal place for it. I personally don't want an empty shelf underneath it as 1) I don't want to end up with an oil rig in my living room, and 2) I would have to buy two (£700) if I wanted to keep both racks the same height.
I have never, nor do I know anybody, who has heard the difference between another top level of the base layer and an empty shelf. It would be interesting to know the results and to know if this is feasable i.e. financiably viable for yourselves to do as well as possible costs.
Yours sincerely.
Sean.

Sean, I think one of the Scandinavian forum members tried it a while ago and reported good results. Might be worth a search.

Oh no! I see a number of threads along the lines of M*n* Stage XX vs. Fraim Stage YY in the new year...
Who'll be the first to put an extra layer under every shelf of their Fraim, the race is on!!
Cheers,
Richard.

Paul,
Like Sean I'd be interested in the top level of a Fraim base (no glass). Will email you. Thought I'd post as well. Drum up some demand.
Regards,
Willy.
