If you liked that..try this

In the spirit of sharing ideas and recent purchases here is the deal; pick a well known album and suggest another that somebody might like in a similar vein. Might encourage some new directions in my music purchasing at least.

If you like Coldplay 'Rush Of Blood..'-try Elbow 'Cast of Thousands'. Bit drier and more quirky but some juicy tunes. The guy has cheered up a bit since the first album too!

If you liked Paul Simon 'Graceland' try Reme Ongala 'Songs For The Poor Man' for some real Tanzanian grooves and a window on a new world of african music.

Good topic, Bruce. Wink

I hadn't relized that Elbow had a new album. I'm going to have to check that out, as I really enjoyed "Asleep in the Back".

Speaking of Elbow, they've got a featured song called "Independent Woman" on the The Northern Kittens animation at www.rathergood.com. I would like to find the CD, but haven't been lucky so far. It's not even mentioned on their official website. Any thoughts?

Mike I think that song was a one-off played live on BBC, so it's not in print anywhere.

Best bet is to d/l it from one of the finer file sharing programs.
