power broadband

Posted by: ken c on 25 March 2010

i was having my broadband receiver re-located today and the installer suggested a system that use existing power cables to avoid cable routing all over the place.

naaah! what will that do to the quality of power to my hifi, i asked myself silently?

interesting how one's priorities get quite skewed...

I have used broadband over mains while my wifi router was on the blink and it made no impact what so ever on my system.

At first I didn't even think about it, and them someone mentioned it, and I actually did some focused listening. Nada. I couldn't tell the difference.

Obviously this is just my experience.

you know what absolute, yu are probably right, but i would never get over the neurosis. i was privately ammused by the fact that i couldnt bring myself to tell the engineer from virgin media that i was concerned it would ruin my hifi. i was afraid he would say "have a life" or something equally embarrassing...

sigh!
